Community partnerships to support rural women’s health
Working with councils, health services & local employers
Find Your FITT supports women’s health and fitness in rural communities through a mix of online coaching and hands on exercise sessions in local spaces working alongside councils, health providers and businesses.
Why partner with Find Your FITT in your local community
Many rural women live with common but under-supported challenges such as weight gain, joint pain, fatigue, menopause symptoms and social isolation. Services are often far away; appointments mean long drives and there are limited options for ongoing exercise support that feels safe and realistic.
Find Your FITT addresses these gaps by offering accessible health and fitness mentoring that builds confidence, improves physical capacity and supports a better quality of life. The programs are designed for women who live outside major centres and large cities and can be delivered online, in local spaces or as a mix of both.
Funding a free Find Your FITT community partnership
If you are a council, community group, health service or local employer who wants to support women’s health in your town, you can work with Find Your FITT through a community partnership. Funding is usually managed by the organisation, often with support from community grants.
A community partnership program typically includes the twelve week health and fitness program for women, free weekly online strength and stretch sessions and access to a free Find Your FITT community reset session.
Some partners choose to fully fund a small group, for example 10 women completing the twelve week program together. Others use a shared model where the organisation covers 50 per cent of the fee and participants contribute the other half. This keeps the program within reach for women while fitting existing wellbeing budgets and grant priorities.

Benefits for your community
When councils, health services and local employers get behind this work, the impact reaches beyond individual participants.
Improved community health
Women experience better physical and mental wellbeing through regular fitness activities and health and wellness coaching.
Increased physical activity
More women take part in regular exercise that suits their abilities, age and preferences, not a one size fits all model.
Healthier eating habits
Nutrition education using Eat for Health resources supports better everyday food choices for women and their families.
Stronger social connections
Group activities and shared goals help women connect, reducing isolation and building local support networks.
Closing service gaps
Towns without gyms or local fitness professionals gain access to structured exercise programs for women and health coaching options.
Sustainable growth
Programs can begin in one community, prove their value and then be rolled out to other rural towns as funding and interest allow.
councils and community organisations
Partnerships for councils and community organisations
Rural councils and community groups often carry much of the responsibility for local health and wellbeing, with limited time and budget. Find Your FITT can sit alongside existing wellbeing plans and community initiatives to give women a simple way to move more, eat better and stay connected without leaving town.
health professionals and clinics
Partnerships for health professionals and clinics
Rural health services see many women with weight gain, low activity levels, joint pain, menopause symptoms, stress and fatigue. Clinicians often recognise that lifestyle support would help, but there is little time in appointments and few local referral options.
How health services can partner with Find Your FITT
- Create a clear referral pathway to the twelve-week fitness program for women, the free weekly online fitness class, or one-to-one health and fitness coaching, so patients have somewhere practical to go when they are ready to work on movement, food, sleep, and stress.
- Host an information and movement session in a clinic, community health centre, or hospital space where women can learn fitness ideas, safe strength work for joint pain or menopause symptoms, and basic nutrition concepts using Eat for Health resources.
for local businesses and workplaces
Partnerships for local businesses and workplaces
Many rural women work in farm businesses, small local shops, schools, health services, aged care or council roles. Employers recognise the effects that tiredness, pain, and stress can have on staff and know that healthy staff are more engaged and better able to manage the demands of busy seasons.
How workplaces can be involved in Find Your FITT
- Promote the free weekly online fitness class as a simple staff wellbeing option and encourage women on staff to join from home or at times that suit them.
- Sponsor a group of women staff or partners into a twelve-week program or one to one coaching package as part of a workplace wellbeing initiative, with flexible online delivery to fit changing rosters and seasons.
- Host a practical movement session at the workplace so women can see exercises that reduce everyday aches, improve comfort for farm and office tasks and learn how to use simple equipment or existing spaces rather than needing a gym.
Access Find Your FITT community workshop session
If you are a council, community group, health service or local business, you can host a free hands-on movement session in your town if you sign up to a program package. Michelle will come to your hall, clinic or workplace and run a practical movement session. She will show simple strength and mobility exercises, share ways to move safely with joint pain or menopause symptoms, and demonstrate how to use what you already have instead of a gym. She also explains how women can keep going with the free weekly online class, twelve week programs and one to one coaching.

How to get involved and support local women’s health
It is simple to start. You can support women’s health in a way that fits your town, service or workplace. Most communities begin with one of three options.
Host a local hands-on session
Invite Find Your FITT into a community hall, clinic, or workplace for a practical session that introduces simple exercises, safe training for joint pain or menopause symptoms, and ways to use what is already available.
Refer women to a 12-week program
Share information about the free weekly online fitness class, twelve-week fitness programs for women or the one-on-one health and fitness coaching so women can join directly.
Support access through funded places
Sponsor places in a twelve week program or one to one coaching for women who would not otherwise be able to take part.
How to get started in your town
Getting started does not need a big project plan. The first step is simply a conversation about what your community needs most.
Step 1
Make contact
Share your role, town, type of organisation, and a brief idea of what you hope to support.
Step 2
Talk through what fits
In a short online meeting, we can look at options such as a free community session, funded places in a twelve-week program, workplace support or a simple referral pathway into existing online sessions.
Step 3
Confirm a starting point and dates
Choose the first step that feels realistic for your council, service, or workplace, and set dates so local women can begin taking part. You can start small and build over time as interest and capacity grow.
Frequently asked questions about community partnerships to support rural women’s health
What is Find Your FITT?
Find Your FITT is a health and fitness coaching initiative for rural women. It combines simple exercise programs for women with health and wellness coaching on movement, food, sleep, stress and menopause. Support can be delivered online, in local spaces or in a mix of both, depending on what works in your town.
How can a community partner with Find Your FITT?
Councils, community groups, health services and local employers can partner with Find Your FITT by funding places in the twelve week health and fitness program for women. As part of the partnership participants also have access to the free weekly online strength and stretch sessions. Partnerships often include a Find Your FITT community workshop session in a hall, clinic or workplace so local women can try the movements and hear how ongoing support works.
What is the funding model?
Funding is usually managed by the organisation, often using wellbeing budgets or community grants. Some partners fully fund a small group, for example ten women completing the twelve week program together. Others use a shared model where the organisation covers 50 per cent of the fee and participants contribute the other half. This keeps the program within reach for women while fitting existing plans and funding priorities.
What is a Find Your FITT community practical workshop session?
A community workshop session is a practical movement session held in a hall, clinic, workplace or community space as part of a funded partnership. Michelle introduces foundational exercises, shows ways to move safely with joint pain or menopause symptoms and demonstrates how to use what is already available rather than needing a gym. Women can try the movements at their own pace or simply watch and listen. The session usually runs for about one hour.
Do you offer online options for very remote towns?
A community reset session can sometimes be delivered online as a live group call as part of a funded partnership, so women can still see and learn movements together even if they are spread across different locations.
How do we measure outcomes for reporting and grants?
For funded partnership projects, simple data can be collected such as the number of women who register, attendance across sessions and basic feedback on changes in movement, confidence and daily activity. These can be shared in a summary format to support council, health service or grant reporting requirements, while still respecting participant privacy.
Support women’s health
Are you ready to support women’s health in your community
In many rural towns, women keep farms, families, services and businesses running, often while not taking the time to think about their health. With a little structure and support, small changes in movement, eating, sleep and stress can make a real difference to how they feel each day.
Find Your FITT provides ongoing health and wellness coaching and practical exercise programs for women in your community that fit daily life.
